A Novell NetWare 4.11-től lehetőségünk van LPR alapú nyomtatásra. A legtöbb gondot általában az LPR nyomtató nevek kiderítése okozza a rossz dokumentáció, az információ hiány miatt. Cikkünkben néhány tippet, ötletet adunk a nyomtató nevek kiderítésére.

LPR nyomtató nevek... A Novell gateway képes LPR kommunkációra a nyomtatókkal TCP/IP-n keresztül. A Novell gateway alapértelmezett nyomtató neve a "PASSTHROUGH". Néhány gyártó figyelmen kívül hagyja a nyomtató nevet, s függetlenül a Novell agent-ben beállított névtől elfogadja a nyomtatandó adatokat. Más gyártók csak az előre beállított névvel hajlandók nyomtatni. Az alábbi lista "néhány" hálózati nyomtató, vagy nyomtató szerver alapértelmezett nyomtató neveit tartalmazza.   Print Server Name LPR Printer Name  Axis LAN Adapters 'pr1'  Axis Office Basic 'LPT1'  Barr Systems 'BARRTCP1'  Canon GP Series Copier/Printers 'print'  Canon imageRUNNER Printers   with internal Fiery LAN Adapter  'print' or 'PRINT'  Canon imageRUNNER Printers   with imagePASS-M1 Print Controller4 'pt1' or possibly 'lpt1'  Canon imageCLASS Printers XJDIRECT  Castelle LANpress 'L1' for parallel port 1 L2' for parallel port 2  Castelle LANpress 3 'P1' for parallel port 1'P2' for parallel port 2'P3' for parallel port 3  D-Link DP300 LPT1_TEXT'   Decision Data  'd1prn  Digi Portserver Does not support LPD  Digi Portserver II 'raw_1' for parallel port 1  'raw_2' for parallel port 2  'raw_8' for parallel port 8  'raw_9' for parallel port 9  Parallel ports 10 - 16 are unknown at this time (possibly either 'raw_10 or 'raw_A' through 'raw_16' or 'raw_F').  EFI Fiery Print Server print' or 'PRINT'  Emulex PASS or TEXTCan be set to accept any value if the Emulex adapter is set to Passthru.  Epson Interface Card 'LPB''LPBF'(for formfeed after splf)  Extend Net 1005 'L1'  Extended Systems 'portLF1' or 'anydata1' for parallel port 1  'portLF2' or 'anydata3' for parallel port 2  'portLF3' or 'anydata3' for parallel port 3  If 'portLF1', 'portLF2' or 'portLF3' causes a blank page before and after each spooled file, try using 'anydata1', 'anydata2' or 'anydata3' instead.  GENICOM 5000 series   with PS1000 series NIC 'PASSTHRU  GENICOM 5000 series   with EasyCom Express NIC 'LPDPRT1  GENICOM 5000 Series   With Emulex PS1000   Network Interface Card (Internal) 'GENICOM' (all uppercase)  GENICOM Printers   with Microplex M205, M206 or M305 NIC  'd1prn'  GENICOM Printers   with Microplex M202 or M202+   external print server  d1prn1' for parallel port 1  'd2prn2' for parallel port 2  'd3com1' for serial port 1  'd4com2' for serial port 2  GENICOM Printers   with Printronix PrintNet 'd1prn'  GENICOM Printers with MPS100 MPS_nnnnnn_P1' where "nnnnnn" represents the last six digits of the MAC address  Hawking Tech Print Server 'PS_Port-1' or 'LP1'  Hitachi DDS 32/40 Printers 'pcl5  Hitachi DDS 50/62 Printers   (with internal Fiery LAN Adapter)  'print' or 'PRINT'  HP JetDirect Card (Internal) 'raw' (formatted output)  'text' (unformatted text)  Note:  The formatting will insert a LF CR to unformatted text.  PCL and Postscript print jobs should be sent unformatted  HP JetDirect Server  (Single-Port External) 'raw' (formatted output)  'text' (unformatted text)  Note:  The formatting will insert a LF CR to unformatted text.  PCL and Postscript print jobs should be sent as raw.  HP JetDirect Server   (External) (Same IP address used for all three ports)  'raw1' for parallel port 1 (formatted output)  'text1' for parallel port 1 (unformatted text)  'raw2' for parallel port 2 (formatted output)  'text2' for parallel port 2 (unformatted text)  'raw3' for parallel port 3 (formatted output)  'text3' for parallel port 3 (unformatted text) Note: Any name sent through, such as PASSTHROUGH, will default to parallel port 1.
